Certificate in Curtain Wall & Glazing Installer
On the Certificate in Curtain Wall & Glazing Installer course, learners will gain experience of various Curtain Wall systems, using common and specialist tools, and the importance of teamwork in the context of installing commercial glazing systems. A curtain wall is a non-structural outer covering of a building. An example is a large sections of glass fitted into aluminium frames and now common on most new large commercial buildings. These glass units are usually made up in a factory and then transported to a building site where they are then fitted to the outside of the new building. A Curtain Wall Installer’s job is to fix the framework to the building and then fit the glass into this framework. As many of these buildings are large, multi-storey office or apartment blocks being able to work outdoors and at a height is important for workers in this sector.
This qualification is aimed at those who work as installers of curtain walling systems. The standards cover the most important aspects of the job.
Course modules (all NFQ Level 4):
This is an Instructor led course.
Applicants require no qualifications as this is an entry level course to the Curtain Walling sector of the Construction Industry.
Would also suit experienced construction workers looking to diversify and gain experience and qualifications in this specialist sector.
