Diploma in Social Media For Business (Marketing)

In the Diploma Social Media for Business (Marketing) course you will develop both your strategic and practical knowledge of Social Media use in business. You will learn about search engine, social media and web page optimisation across devices and how all of these can be used to benefit businesses. Using a clear marketing strategy you will learn how to use the social networks including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+.

The Diploma in Social Media for Business is City and Guilds accredited.  The course modules include:

  • Principles of Marketing (Unit 320)
  • Principles of Social Media within a Business (Unit 301)
  • Principles of Keywords and Optimisation (Unit 302)
  • Using Collaborative Technologies (Unit 304)
  • Creating and Optimising Content for the Web (Unit 306)
  • Use Digital and Social Media Marketing Campaigns (Unit 201)
  • Social Networking Management for a Business (Unit 303)
  • Content Management System Website Creation (Unit 305)
  • Principles of Social Media Advertising (Unit 308)
  • Communicating using Digital Marketing / Sales Channels (Unit 310)
  • Social Media for Business (Project)

 

This is a full time, tutor led course where a combination of training methods is used to deliver this course.  These include instructions, presentations, demonstrations, supervised practice, practical work training, discussion groups, role plays, and giving and receiving feedback.  Participants are required to actively participate in the learning process and engage in course work outside of course hours.  They must complete a number of written exercises throughout the course and keep up-to-date records of their progress.  A number of methods are used to assess the participants’ progress and for certification purposes.  These include internal theory exams, practical exams, learner records and skills demonstrations.

Applicants must have reached the current statutory school leaving age. Applicants should have achieved a minimum of a QQI Level 4 Major Award or its equivalent. Good numerical and communication skills are essential, including verbal and written command of the English language.

This is an area which is currently seeing massive growth and Social Media Marketers are in high demand. You can work in a broad range of industries in a variety of roles. You can also work in-house or remotely.
